Reading Logs

Please remember to read with your child at home. I saw most kids have been reading, but a few don't have many days. I really want everyone to get a treat at the end of the month for reaching the reading goal, and it would be fun if the whole class was able to go bowling this spring! Happy reading!

Magic Milk

Today we made magic milk! We added drops of food coloring to the milk, then we added a drop of dish soap. The colors magically mixed together when the dish soap was added!

Apple Investigation!

Today the kids did an apple investigation. They identified the color of their apple, weight, measured height, and made an apple print! It was a fun afternoon!

Update from 2nd Week

We had a lot of fun last week! We continue to practice reading and writing letters and numbers, rhyming, counting syllables, and we even learned about equal and greater in math. Everyday we have center time in our classroom. This is free time for the kids to play and explore. The different centers are: art, cars, Legos, blocks, sensory table, iPads, dramatic play, and reading. Here are some pictures from center time:
Dramatic play: last week they had fun as mail carriers!
At the sensory table the kids were able to wash and dry dishes.
Coloring at the art center.
Listening to stories at the iPad center.
Reading to themselves. The kindergarteners learned they can read the story by using the pictures!

The kindergarteners also had fun with our science experiment on Friday. We found out what happens when you drop mentos into a bottle of Diet Coke!!
